December 7, 2009
Dear All,
This letter is to confirm my resignation as Secretary of the SCCA effective December 13th, 2009. This date coincides with the 2009 SCCA Annual General Meeting.
I want to thank all those hard working individuals who voted for me last year and who have helped me in my work as Secretary. When I became Secretary, my goal was to answer all correspondences, questions and enquiries in a timely manner. I believe that, when possible, I have achieved this and am proud of my efforts.
Resigning from my position is not an easy decision, and is the result of many months of increasing frustration with the President of the Association.
As a member of the Executive, I assumed that we would participate in regular meetings and whenever possible would try to reach a consensus amongst the 5 Executive members on issues, prior to presenting them to the Board of Directors. Instead, we have had a total of two Executive Meetings in 12 months, and from the beginning the President has made no attempt to build any sort of team or camaraderie amongst his fellow Executive members. Instead, he has tried to run a one person Executive.
As President, T’Shaka has made little attempt to communicate on a regular basis. This lack of communication has been particularly frustrating and has been getting progressively worse as the year has moved forward. Often, I have sent a request for information 3 or 4 times, without receiving any sort of a response. I feel he is not respectful of my time.
Recent attempts to correct the problems have not been responded to by the President. Therefore, I find myself unable to continue to work beside him and am forced to resign.
I will make myself available to assist my replacement in any way I can.
Thank You for the opportunity to serve.
Sincerely,
Carl McGroggan
Secretary, Southern California Cricket Association
