Good morning from Lauderhill, Florida for the start of a busy two weeks of USA national team coverage on DreamCricket.com. Peter Della Penna here on a slightly overcast morning where USA is taking on Cayman Islands in the first match of the 2013 ICC Americas Division One Twenty20. The tournament is a double round-robin event and it will test the fitness of everyone involved with eight matches crammed into seven days. USA will play seven matches in five days. 

The two captains on the field for the toss now. On the boundary, USA physio Akhtar Masood "Chik" Syed is posing for a photograph by the official tournament snapper, USA Women's player Nadia Gruny. I'll let you know who won the toss and the starting lineups shortly.

USA has won the toss and has decided to bat.

Abhimanyu Rajp, Akeem Dodson and Saqib Saleem will sit out the first match for USA.

 Taylor is definitely going to open, but who with is the question. Nicholas Standford and Timothy Surujbally were padded up during the official team photo. My money is on Surujbally. We'll find out shortly.

 It is indeed Surujbally opening with Taylor, the two are teammates at their local club in the SFCA. Taylor will open on strike, left hand bat. Surujbally right hand bat off strike. Kervin Ebanks will open the bowling from the Pavilion End, right arm medium over the stumps. One slip in place, third man and fine leg on the rope are the two fielders allowed outside the circle to start.

Bryan to Surujbally. Two, Full toss at waist height outside off, mishit through the covers and they get a pair.

 Bryan to Surujbally. Wide, short and down leg side, Surujbally goes to hook and misses.

Bryan to Surujbally. Four byes. Good length ball outside off, Surujbally goes to cut and misses, the ball swings in late and the keeper does a terrible job of collecting, goes through him to the fine leg boundary. 

Bryan to Surujbally. FOUR! Fullish length but very wide, Surujbally goes hard and drives slightly uppishly but safely in the gap between cover and point. 

Bryan to Surujbally. Leg bye. Full on the legs, he misses a slog and the ball dribbles to midwicket. 

Bryan to Taylor. FOUR! Short and wide, Taylor cuts hard, not totally in control of that as it flew at head height behind point but it was in the gap between point and backward point.

Bryan to Standford. Five. Short and wide outside off, guides it to backward point. The fielder has a shy at the non-striker's end and misses, no one backing up and they get four overthrows.

Wright to Standford.   DROPPED! Full length ball chipped in the air to midwicket. The fielder Bryan was terribly slow to react, stuck a hand out low late and it burst through. Very poor reaction by the fielder and they take a single. Standford with a life on 13, moves to 14.

 Wright to Taylor. Two, full and driven past mid off but long on runs over to cut it off before the rope.

Wright to Standford. Wide, short and wide down leg, the keeper throws up an appeal after Standford misses a hook but the umpire isn't fooled.

 Bazil to Standford. Four men on the rope now for both batsmen. Two, full and wide, pushed to cover. The throw to the bowler's end is poorly misfielded on the backup and Taylor alertly comes back for a second.

Bazil to Taylor. Two, full on off stump, Taylor goes for a slog sweep and top edges it high into no man's land between long on and deep midwicket.

Single, short outside off, tapped to backward point, the throw to the keeper's end hits the stumps but Taylor was well in.The throw was so good it has broken off stump and we have a delay as a replacement stump needs to be fished out of the equipment shed. Meanwhile, drinks are run out for the players during the delay.
