The events at the Tau Lal Stadium during the inauguration ceremony of the Indian Cricket League, was a demonstration to savour for the heaving audience in the venue.

Fans had arrived at the venue well in advance of the match and were gearing up to witness a potentially stunning dance performance from Bollywood actor Kareena Kapoor.

The floodlights were illuminating a strong reflection of the amount of colour and joy in the stadium. The players were casually warming up in the ground and captains Chris Cairns and Marvan Attapattu couldn't resist a piece of the action!

A sudden thunderous firecracker bursts and it marks the beginning of the spectacular performance from Kareena Kapoor. A massive stage is set up in the ground - bang opposite to the sight screen. Indian Pop Band 'Band of Boys' are expected to glee the crowds throughout the tournament with their musical performances.

The performance ended and there was no time to waste…the players of the Delhi Jets and Chandigarh Lions were down to business right away. The promised 18:00 HRS start did not disappoint and the crowds got what they want - a first hand experience of express cricket - 20:20 mode!

The inaugural season of the Indian Cricket League could not have kicked off in a more extravagant manner. Lights…action…and its time to play!
