There was some thing called a fair play award
which didnt strike many a hoodlum's chord
to get that trophy studded with diamonds
so desperate was Andrew Symonds
that he managed to better his own record
NC,
the worrisome part is how the Indian youngsters seem to be picking up the ugly behaviour from him. I didn't want to see Ojha get a wicket because my kid was watching :)
SP,
the fact that DC had nothing to lose in monetary terms obviously helps.. and the officials including Lalit Modi were 'hard but fair' i guess :)
Mahesh,
I fervently hope that cricket doesnot degenerate in to football kinda behaviour
Scorpi,
agreed.. The Indian youngsters have been the worst behaved of the lot and that's what makes me worried about our team's fututre.. Symonds was too obvious though :)
Fark,
welcome to the blog, I don't think Symonds had any nice things to say to his opponents. If you remember the Justice Hansen judgement, it said that even if Bajji had said monkey and not maa ki, he was well within his rights because Symmo was the provocauter par excellence.. There's such a fine line between gamesmanship and rudeness and that line has been crossed many times over the last 10 years in cricket. Hooliganism is a spectator curse in football but its a player curse in cricket today, I guess. :)
