It would still be even better if there were more "non-players" in boxes, regardless of who is playing, such as Christopher Martin-Jenkins, Jim Maxwell, Fazeer Mohammed, Tony Cozier and Harsha Bhogle. At times, the cheerleading of Bill Lawry, Ian Botham, Ravi Shastri, and Robin Jackman can be a bit too much to bear.

Yes, the young generation doesn't have scars from the past. A turning point was Edgbaston last summer in the third test. That 5 wicket victory changed the fortunes of the Saffas for the foreseeable future. After that they chase down a near record target in Perth to win by 6 wickets and followed it with a 9 wicket win at the MCG.

Warney is gone and he was inflicting mental damage in addition to taking wickets. Never underestimate the power of Warne.

I don't know who has a worse short term memory, the English press and fans, or the Indians? Maybe Dhoni should talk to a certain KKR owner for tips on how to deal with a fickle following. It will be interesting to see how much bloodletting is done.

Nominations for a scapegoat -

#1 Greg Chappell - It's all his fault. If he hadn't been the coach of the Worst ODI World Cup campaign in history, then India wouldn't care so much about T20 and they wouldn't be so heartbroken now.

#2 Ricky Ponting - Australia picked a terrible T20 team for this event. If only they had stopped rushing people out the door like Matthew Hayden and denied deserving players like Cameron White, they would have beaten the West Indies and then India certainly would have beaten Australia in the Super 8s. His selfishness in skipping the IPL and all that T20 experience denied India an easy win. Did I forget he was going to gift wrap Harbhajan his wicket?

#3 Brett Lee - Donated all of his runs conceded to Chris Gayle instead of saving some for Yuvraj and Dhoni. What a jerk. All those lasting bonds built up at Kings XI between Binga and Yuvi, singing songs deep into the night, count for nothing.

#4 - Andrew Symonds - How selfish of him to get kicked off the tour. If only he had hung around long enough to help the Aussies beat the West Indies. Then when they played India in the group stage, Bhajji was going to give him another Hindi lesson that would have left him dazed and confused and looking for some Kingfisher.

#5 All other Australians - Duh! Why look at the Indian failures like Suresh Raina and Rohit Sharma when you can blame everything on the Australians instead?!

We are not far off from having the reverse catch (drop) and a host of other "reverses"!

1) india is expected to win against a lowly ranked team

2) india is not expected to win abroad

3) indian hype is expected to be burst

4) indian hype is to continue....\

Pundits and all can grab one thread and sing yarns and yarns of cricketing "panditry" ...

Somehow it warmed my heart seeing mccullum's fight back, ryder and verttori's tonne and left me a distaste that bhajji got 6.....Reading richardson's articles seems to show that kiwi board has bent a tad too backward to make the hosts comfortable....
